My first sacred space was my apartment in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, between 16-19 years old during my university years, after finishing High School and living with my family. San Pedro Sula, Honduras Movimiento en mi país tropical 🐆 Hot springs after a winter hike, snowboarding—or any physical activity (I’m still learning to snowboard!)—is a human sensation I embrace with every fiber of my being. I’ve always loved being a museum explorer, seeing so many different perspectives, ideas, and stories through different human eyes. The Denver Art Museum is such a special place for me. I spent a day there every week during my first two years in the United States. Its design, both inside and out, is unique, and the different galleries... it was the first place I ever saw a Vincent van Gogh painting. I remember that during those lonely days of moving out on my own, it always made me smile and calmed me to know that my apartment was only a ten-minute walk from Van Gogh’s. And for those who don’t know, I’ve shared a great love for this man since my teenage years. Art is much of the light that allows me to appreciate and love life, even in its darkest colors. Let us choose the love we want, and the love that chooses us, EN LO QUE NOS MORIMOS 🤙🏼 The feeling of a coffee date with your friend to catch up on life.
